On the horizon: my next handbag

So many bags, so little time.

1. Phillip Lim's Scout Drawstring Hobo seems like a far better alternative to my most recent lemming.

2. Rennes' Mini Château Duffle might be sold out, but I can still lust after it for a while.

3. Elizabeth and James Leather Hobo Bag is far more affordable than the Row's Backpack.

4. Not quite brown and certainly not black, Coach's Madison Phoebe Shoulder Bag has left me salivating. I honestly can't wait to see how Coach's newly appointed designer, Stuart Vevers, revolutionises the brand.

Beauty in a tick: Gorgeous Cosmetics Cheek Creme in Strawberries & Cream

IMG_3386

This miracle in a pot gives you colour in an instant.

Gorgeous Cosmetics Cheek Creme in Strawberries & Cream is aptly named -- it's the moment when the creme melds with the macerated strawberries. Tasty, sweet and gives you a glow. It's another, "I'll have what she's having" situation.

A glimpse at the lips: Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer a.k.a Show Off Lip Lacquer

Rimmel

If the world were to end tomorrow, what would you do?

Phone a friend, start some trouble, shop 'til you drop, or even fly to some place you've only dreamt of visiting?

I would dress up in my finest (lips included), gather up Scott, my family and a few close friends and we'd drink wine and eat like it was going out of style. Careening meteors aside, I can happily say I'd be leaving this world with no regrets.

Speaking of dressing up, when it comes to your lips would you want the colour to whisper or howl on this hypothetical doomsday? Rimmel's covered all their bases with the release of Apocalips -- a creamy lip lacquer full of shine that idles somewhere between a gloss and a lipstick.

Not your typical doe foot applicator

Not your typical doe foot applicator

The applicator is different (in a good way); the shape is almost the same, however a portion of the doe foot applicator is hollowed out and functions like a spoon. It scoops up the product and allows you to lay down as little or as much as you want. From experimenting with the colours, I'm a firm believer in starting with a small amount of product and adding more as you see fit.

Wear time is pretty standard -- on average, of the three colours I've tested thus far (Stellar, Solstice and Nova) they lasted anywhere between three and five hours. Towards the end of wear I found my lips to be on the drier side, which is often the case for me with prolonged wear of any lip product.

The scent is slightly fruity, almost reminiscent of Sweet Tarts. Within a few minutes of application you won't even notice the scent.

Stellar

Stellar is similar to tomato red. Sheer perfection :)

Apocaliptic

Apocaliptic is a blue based bright fuchsia pink. Dupe alert: Apocaliptic could pass for Giorgio Armani's Lip Maestro in Ecstasy 504.

Nova

Nova is a yellow based pink -- it reminds me of the LORAC shade J.Lo constantly sported circa 2002.

Celestial

Celestial is a brown based pink. Nothing too special.

Solstice

Solstice is similar to rum raisin with a shimmery undercurrent. Love!

Phenomenon

Phenomenon is a peachy beige. Not my favourite.

Nude Eclipse

Nude Eclipse is the colour of clay. Meh.

Stargazer

Stargazer is a translucent golden hue with bits of shimmer. Wear alone or layer over other colours for added effect.
