It's been a Butter London kind of year (so far)...

A few good colours

A few good colours

I've really dropped the ball with keeping you updated about which colour I'm wearing on my nails. Since the start of 2013 I've tried several new and old shades from Butter London. Something about their palette and ability to come up with interesting names really lures me in week after week.

Knackered is a whimsical duochrome -- one part periwinkle, one part silvery teal and all tied up with holographic glitter. This particular shade is fairly sheer; me thinks it would look awesome over a creamy black, purple, blue or green.

Fash Pack is a creamy caramel-ish taupe swimming in a sea of gold micro glitter. Look fast or you just might miss it.

Kerfuffle leans 'old lady' peachy/pink, but on tanner girls this colour turns back the hands of time.

Keeker is that purple-hued pansy. Sweet, happy and simple.

Macbeth, a lovely red/coral, make for a perfect dupe of Essie's lollipop.

Butter London Spring 2013

Candy shops, lollipops, lemonade, fairy floss and ice cream -- these are a few of my favourite things. Butter London's Spring 2013 nail collection's been added to the list and just in time really; I think they've swooped in to save us all before we fall off the neon precipice.

Let's celebrate these sensational spring colours together...

  • Fruit Machine - creamy pink shade. Essie's Lovie Dovie is slightly warmer.
  • Kerfuffle - sherbet orange, whereas Jaffa reminds me of a ripe Tropicana orange.
  • Jasper - the pale yellow little sis to Cheeky Chops.
  • Fiver - mint ice cream perfection. Essie's Mint Candy Apple is a pretty close dupe.
  • Molly Coddled - a lovely lavender.
  • Cuppa - tanned to perfection. Screams All Hail the Queen sans holographic glitter.

Can't wait for this collection to hit a store near you? Face of Australia and L'Oreal have a few creamy pastel alternatives to help tide your nails over. Kate and Lilit can help you in the swatch department for these respective collections :)

It's time for a walk down memory lane. Butter London was the first brand of nail polish I used after moving to Australia; I'd heard of the brand before, but we never formally crossed paths. There's no turning back now.

  • Cheeky Chops - my sunny day shade and it also makes for a great conversation starter!
  • Slapper - a creamy teal which jumps off your nails -- it's shockingly good.
  • Blagger - the sort of blue that works year-round.
  • Scouse - not quite blue, not quite purple and it has an element of shimmery sparkle too.

If you love these colours as much as I do, be sure to visit Butter London before 11:59 PM 11 November 2012 and use the code FRIENDS12 when you checkout. To entice you even more, they're also throwing in free shipping for orders greater than $75.00.

I have my eyes on Squatter, Sprog and Swinger -- hint, hint ;)

Butter London Holiday 2012

I don't know about you, but I'm really looking forward to Fairy Cake (think Frilly Knickers or Tart with a Heart), but with a bit more grey.  Scallywag is the glittery child of Slapper and Blagger.

Can't wait!
