Show me your paws: Butter London's Rock Off

Having soft and pretty feet is important to me; my belief is if you look after them, your feet will love you in return. This sentiment is true for anything.  I'd also like to think my husband doesn't have a Barney Rubble on his hands - from a feet perspective I mean.  With Spring and Summer upon us, cute coloured toes are a must in my book. I try to get a proper pedicure every month; if a tight budget or timing is keeping you away from the nail salon, then give these tips and products a go.

  • Soak your feet or take a luke warm shower in order to soften and soothe your soles.
  • Use a scrub to get rid of any dry skin.
  • Dry your feet and apply a callus remover to any rough patches. I use Butter London's Rock Off in between salon visits. I noticed Butter London switched to a roll-on bottle; I recently purchased the old version with a dropper.
  • After three minutes or so, reach for a pumice stone or foot file and target your trouble spots.
  • Rinse off and dry your feet again.
  • Apply your moisturiser of choice.  I love The Body Shop's Hemp Foot Protector, this formula is perfect during those dry and cold winters.

I spy with my little eye: Spring 2012 Essentials

Currently loving...

Sass & Bide's The Subdivision top in black.  Dress it up or down.  The sequin collar had me at hello.

Miu Miu's purple Mary Janes.  I've been on the hunt for a new pair of Mary Janes since I destroyed my much loved Steve Madden pair.  I know Miu Miu is a major step up, but how can you not love the hint of silver sparkle on the inside of the heels?

3.1 Phillip Lim's Pashli Messenger in bright fuchsia. Side seam zippers for functionality and fashion - carrying a bit more than usual today?  No problem!  To the Celine Luggage Tote: eat your heart out!

Weekly nail review - Dior's Golden Jungle Crocodile Leather Effect Nails

Oh my, my nails are alive! I couldn't get on the crackle effect bandwagon, because nothing really struck me as stunning.  Black crackle reminds me of biology class and learning about cell division - where's the fun in that? Mostly Sunny convinced me to go the high-end route with Dior's Golden Jungle Crocodile Leather Effect nail polish duo, which hit counters for Autumn 2012.

The randomness in which the polish splits, breaks and cracks is mesmerising.  Janice applied one coat of the gold atop Essie's Protein base coat and then swiftly went back in with one coat of the khaki. The instructions tell you to apply the khaki coat within two minutes of applying the gold; the wetness of the gold activates the chemicals within the khaki thus commencing the effect. The transformation was initially subtle, but after a few minutes had passed my right hand reached optimal cracking; revealing golden shimmery joints.  My left hand quickly followed suit.  Once we were happy with the overall look, Janice painted Seche Vite's top coat on my nails for a "flawless" finish.

The compliments I received were endless and I genuinely lost track of what people said to me. Although, Casey, my trainer, told me it reminded her of a reversed giraffe :)

How did Dior's polish perform?  Well, fantastic!  The price tag admittedly was shocking - I paid a steep $52.00 AUS for this nail polish set.  But here I sit one week later and my nails still look amazing. If you love something as special as this, then you need to go and treat yo self!

Hey, it's cheaper than buying The Row's crocodile backpack!

Too Faced La Creme Color Drenched Lip Cream

Did I mention there's a giveaway too?

Too Faced recently released "16-must-have-colors" which features four genres, spices, nudes, pinks and reds. The new range promotes lip hydration and conditioning - they also happen to be vegan friendly and paraben-free.

The lovely Leesha of X-Sparkage broke down the collection and reviewed these lippies by genre.  The pictures she took are phenomenal - I suggest you check it out, because my image is pretty meh at best (I took this shot on the sly).

Out of the six I swatched above, which one do you think I purchased and why?  If you choose wisely, I'll award one lucky reader with a colour of his/her choice.

Happy guessing!  Review to follow after the contest closes.

Curious about the price?
